IMPORTANT TO REGISTRANTS TO OUR ONLINE PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE
Students from previous courses have indicated a strong preference to have
sample designs available.  While no spedific design is REQUIRED reading, it
is very strongly advisable to have sample designs on hand.  We recommend that
when you get Special Order Paper #27 that you look over the descriptions of
the designs and pick two or three that suit your circumstances to order in
addition to the reading list.  It appears that these are close to essential
for successfully completing your design project required for certification.

EXPEDITED SHIPMENT requires payment by bank check or money order.  See
instructions below. Personal or business checks are fine, but shipment will
take place about two weeks after receipt of  your check.

Give a Permaculture Library or Course Reading List to a group in an
economically oppressed country.  We have more requests for such literature
than we can fill.  We will tell recipients the names of donors unless you ask
us not to. Ask about making the contribution tax deductible in the US.  At
present, there is a pressing need for contributions to supply two course
reading packages to a group in Kenya.

Prices subject to change.  There can be no substitutions if ordering from
this list. Offers subject to availability of texts from publishers.

*  NOTE:  Because of exorbitant bank fees to exchange non-U.S. Currency into
US dollars, WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CHECK DRAWN ON A US BANK OR BY
INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDER IN US DOLLARS.  IMPORTANT.  Make checks
payable to Yankee Permaculture.  However make postal money orders payable
exactly as follows: "Dan or Cynthia Hemenway."  The US post office may refuse
to cash postal money orders made to Yankee Permaculture!

Be sure that you have a copy of the full Yankee Permaculture Price List.  All
our price lists are dated.  We will honor any price on a list that was dated
to the previous six months, usually much longer. Copies of our price list
transmitted by email are valid at least six months from date of transmission
unless updated in a later transmission.

To keep up on work in the development of permaculture philosophy, the
programs of the Forest Ecosystem Rescue Network (FERN), Elfin Permaculture
Workshops and Design Courses, and new publications issued by Yankee
Permaculture, subscribe to Robin  newsletter. For 1997, we include our new
compact permaculture publication, PROD (Permaculture Review, Overview &
Digest) at no extra charge.

To learn of additional publications relating to permaculture, check the book
review sections of TIPSY, TIPS, and Robin.  We particularly recommend the
following books, although Yankee Permaculture does not carry them at this
time.

The One Straw Revolution  by Masanobu Fukuoka
Freshwater Aquaculture  by Bill McLarney
Dwellers in the Land  by Kirkpatrick Sale
How  to Grow More Food  by John Jeavons
Seed to Seed  by Suzanne Ashworth
Garden Seed Inventory  by Kent Whealy
Fruit, Berry and Nut Inventory  by Kent Whealy

Contact Elfin Permaculture at this address for details on hosting a workshop
or Permaculture Design Course in your area.

The publications on this reading list apply to broad aspects of permaculture.
Information pertaining specific circumstances is listed in many other
publications on our regular and special order forms.
Last updated:  2/22/00

PS:  People who do not require certification and wish to study on their own
can get the reading list and Yankee Permaculture Paper 24E, which is the list
of assignments, and conduct their own course of study.  Course monitors can
also listen in to the class discussion and get supplemental posts of
material not covered by the reading list.

NOTE;  We are working on a presentation of sample designs to be available to
course students and others.  Since this will not be required reading, but an
optional aid, we do not plan to include it in the reading list package.  A
discount will be available to enrolled students, however.  Some students find
sample designs to be very helpful in guiding them on their own design project.
